View Full Version : Bold lettering in Start menu??
Is there a way to make the text in the Start menu bold?
Specifically the list of programs recently used.

you can do it by right-clicking the desktop, select:
poperties > appearance tab > advanced
in the "item:" dropdown box, select "menu", then click the bold button over on the right
drawback: it makes everything (all menu text) bold
play around with those settings, may be a way to get more specific results
-edit- this is assuming Win XP is your OS

I thought that would have done it too, but it only emboldens the upper window munus, not the Start menu.

It worked for me....
Although, I have everything in classic style, dunno what it does in XP default styling.
Theme managers (StyleXP, Windowblinds, etc) can change menu fonts.
I have applied themes in the past that did, anyway.
Never tried doing a custom job, though. Just took what the theme gave me.
You can try ResHacker or ResEdit, and goof around with a few things.
But you might need the uxtheme.dll patch to benefit from it though, not sure.
Shirley there's some theming gurus around here somewhere....
