The NFL draft is next Saturday morning and I can’t wait. I’m completely obsessed with it every year and with my team (N.O. Saints) picking second its even worse.

The Texans who have the number one pick in my opinion should trade down with that pick and move down to acquire more picks. I know that it may sound silly to trade out of the number one pick and have the opportunity to draft Reggie Bush but the Texans need a lot of help in a lot of areas. They have so many needs all over the field that taking one elite player won’t help them as much as getting a bunch of solid contributors.

The Saints with the second pick should take D'Brickashaw Ferguson, offensive tackle from Virginia. Last year the Saints used their first round pick on a offensive right tackle and by taking Ferguson to play left tackle they would have two bookend tackles who would solidify the offensive line for years to come. The Saints signed Drew Breese in the off season and they need someone to protect his blind side and Ferguson would be the man to do it. A lot of people have the Saints taking Mario Williams a defensive end with that pick but I just don’t see it happening. They already have two first round draft picks playing on the defensive line and I don’t think Williams has the size or speed to be dominate like everyone says he’ll be.

I'm excited about the Draft this year as well. I think more so than any other previous year. Being Texas alum, I'm really excited to see what will become of Vince Young, Michael Huff, and so many other fine Longhorns that are going pro.

From the looks of this, it appears that Bush is the most likely choice for the Texans:

I'm also very interested to see where Ohio St.'s Hawk and Carpenter are going. It seems like there's so much talent going this year.

Reggie Bush
Mario Williams
Matt Leinart
AJ Hawk
Bobby Carpenter
LenDale White
DeAngelo Williams
Santonio Holmes
Vince Young
Michael Huff
DJ Shockley
Marcus Vick - Prolly won't go until the 4th imo.

Besides the beginning, the NFL Draft is a snoozer.

I don't know anyone who watches after round 1 if even all of that.

I don't know anyone who watches after round 1 if even all of that.

I watch attentively through 2 rounds and then glance occasionally for the next two. After the 4th round, no one cares.

This is one of few times that I watched none of it.

I went to Wizards game and watched them squander a 14-point lead and Lebron James score the game winner with a not-called obvious travel.

Now they are down 2 - 1 in the series. I'm going back Sunday.

I'm sorry did you say NFL Draft?:(

Go Bengals! I say.

Sucks to cheer for a team for over 15 years, they finally make the playoffs for the first time since 1990 and their QB takes a cheap shot in the knees.

Are you from Australia?

Btw. Carlson Palmer didn't take a cheap shot. It was clearly a legal shot and a regrettable accident.
