Videolan works GREAT for playing videos that are giving you trouble. As a standard player though, it's not the best. The video quality with Videolan can be downright pathetic at times.

A lot of people don't like to hear it, but the player that gives me the least problems and the best quality is WMP.

Zoom Player for videos, and VideoLan for those "why-the-hell-doesn't-this-shit-play?" videos. :)

Funny but most of my headaches concerning vid's are in my E-mail's not my browser . So as I said still using winplayer . :lookaroun

I can't stand how they all change your preferences after trying a new one . Thunderbird is bad for that tho .

KLite Mega Codec Pack's MPC player is good.

KLite Mega Codec Pack's MPC player is good.

I use that one too. Winamp for music and MPC for video, never had a problem with it.

Hi Guys

I have asked a similar querstion in a previous thread.

Unfortunatley there does not seem to be a good alternative if you just want one WMP replacement player, which I am sure most of us would.

Video Lan, may play most videos, but some break up and the sound quality is often poor. If you try the same video clip in Classic Media Player you may get a better result and vice versa. But if you play the same clip in WMP it will almost certainly play perfectly !

So VLC and CMP still have a way to go.

I have not tried BSP (and would not want to after reading this thread !)

MPC is a very good program but it has some drawbacks.
With windows mediaplayer you can use a plugin lige DFX you cant do that with MPC(correct me if i am wrong, because i rather use mpc than wmp for movies).
I know this was not in the question but mpc does'nt show how much of a trailer that has been cached/downloaded like quicktime(but i still use mpc for trailers).
