Norton Antivirus Pro

A friend of mine got a comp 3 months ago with Norton Antivirus installed.She is now getting pestered to update her system for 40 dollars.The question, is if I download the pro version from the verifieds and install it,will it entitle her for free updates for ever, or will the same thing happen again in a few months.If there is no way round it, I'll get her AVG.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you get a year of updates, etc... or get this..

it will have directions inside it... u replace two files i think, delete, and replace, pretty simple
