For guitar guides, go to http://www.guitartabs.cc/ and register. They have some really decent lessons on their forums from other members, faster picking methods and what not.

Though guitar lessons really are a useless thing... Google how to read tabs, and learn the basic chords. Most older songs are amazingly written with different variations of basic chords. "Dust in the Wind" for example is all variations of A minor and C.

After you've gotten comfortable playing chords, try playing a simple tab, like some Johnny Cash or something, not to fast, not to complicated. The trick to guitar is practice. It sounds like a monotonous task, and it is, but once you realize you can play a song note for note, perfectly in time, the rewarding feeling is tremendous.

Here's a good number to play to get your tremolo speeds up, not to mention it sounds sweet lol, bare with me, i dont write too many tabs (this is my interpretation of the song, so it may not be completely right but to me it sounds spot on)

Drop B Tuning:

Riff1:

C# ----15*-------
G# ----15*-------
E ------15*------- Repeat this 4 times alternate picking, almost
B --------------- tremelo but not quiet
F# ---------------
B ---------------

Then

C# -----------
G# -----------
E -----------
B -----15------
F# ----15------
B -----15-------

So you wanna make to hit the 1,2, and third strings quickly with pinch harmonics, then with one sweep (upwards) hit the 4,5 and sixth strings.

Do this 16 times, easier than it sounds trust me.

Then

Riff2:

C# ---------------------------------
G# ---------------------------------
E ---------------------------------- Fast alternate picking
B ---------------------------------- Repeat 4 times
F# ----////7777777733332222-------
B ------////7777777733332222-------

Then:

Riff3:

C# ---------------
G# ----------------
E ---------------- "Fast" tremelo picking, play each Tr (on the
B ---------------- designated fret) for as long as you would
F# ---------------- (estimate how long to stay on each fret)
B --7tr-3tr-2tr--- from the above riff (riff 2)

Repeat Riff3 6 times.

The fun part:

Riff 4:

C# ----------------------------------------------
G# ----------------------------------------------
E ------------------------------------------------
B ----3p0--000000--3p0--3p0--3p0h5/6---000000--
F# --3p0--000000--3p0--3p0--3p0h5/6---000000--
B ----3p0--000000--3p0--3p0--3p0h5/6---000000--

The open string B are played all palm muted and fast alternate picking, the text editor wont let me show it.

Note, the palm muted open B string parts are not accurate, its much more than 6 times, use your best judgement (heck I'm too lazy to check, I play mostly by ear).

Then right after you finish that do this:

C# -----------------------------------
G# -----------------------------------
E ------------------------------------ Tremelo picking
B ----------------------------4444-----
F# --0000--5555--3333------------
B -----------------------------------

Repeat this (both the above are part of the same riff) 4 times

The ending is basically Riff 4 minus the palm mute alternate picking parts (its still got the 3p0 in there and the tremelo picking from the one above).

To finish it off, do Riff2 then go back to the Riff 1.

Have fun, it seems daunting to learn, but if a dumbass like me could do it anyone can (holy shit I don't even know how to read sheet music >_<)
