Now that was real fight. Much better than the Costya Tzu fight.

Hats off to Hatton. He moved up to welterwieght. Fought a good fight against a good fighter and won.

I enjoyed watching that.:D

I hope to see him fight De La Hoya soon.

I can't see Oscar take that fight. He certainly doesn't need the money and all it can do is tarnish a brilliant career.

After seeing Oscar seeing him dispatch Mayorga, I could see him doing it. He said he wants to fight for glory. An up and coming boxer like Hatton is the ticket.

Hatton had a little trouble with Collazo. He got rocked in the 12th round. I think what saved Hatton is the fact he knocked Collazo down in the first round while Collazo was off balance. It was a great shot and it made it a 10-8 round.

If you haven't seen the fight, please download it. It was on last night on HBO and shown after a re-airing of the De La Hoya from a week ago.

That was abetter fight than this one.

Meh. That's all we need....a feckin Manchester bar steward w/ a title belt.

:P

I didn't really care for the fight. Too much clinching.
But then, even as much as I despise the HBO boxing analysts,
they did say that that Collazo's style would give Hatton problems,
and it seems they were right....for once.

Says a lot for the determination and heart of Hatton.
Still, I don't think he needs to be in the ring with De LaHoya (even at his "advanced" age).
At least, from what I saw in this fight.

I'd rather like the prospect of De LaHoya vs Mayweather.
Maybe Oscar could knockout that woman beating little bastard.
Don't really like either fighter, so a knockout either way would please me, I suppose.

Yeah coz' he's not won a title before. In his 40 fight unbeaten run.

Hatton's problem is that he now has to fight above his natural weight to make serious money. It's a catch 22, he could easily dominate the lighter weights, but HBO are paying for welterweights just now, coz that's where the big audiences are.

It's a pity, but the lad has to fight at the weight he's told, to secure his family's future.

I think the kid's quite capable of it. He's got some heart.
Really wouldn't mind seeing him fight again, against anyone other than Collazo.

Yeah, but his problem is that at his natural weight he was quite powerful and you could tell the opponent was really feeling the punches. Particularly the shots to the body, which is a speciality of his. At the heavier weight they are far less effective and I think he'll struggle a bit with the classier fighters.

I'm not saying he's not capable of doing it, just that it's a pity he can't stay at the proper weight and try to dominate it. However I can see why he needs to move up, the difference in money is substantial and he needs to secure his future.

I'd like to see him fight Collazo again. He gave him a go. If it wasn't for that first round knockdown (quite noice) then it's possible Collazo would've won.

Hatton probably won't wanna go there again, unfortunately for we spectators.

Next great fight....

Tarver/Hopkins

Hopkins has beaten De La Hoya with a nasty kidney shot KO and Felix Trinidad with a nasty KO.

I'll go with Hopkins even though he's old as fuck.
