Hey guys, 'sup?

Check this: I just got an invite for OiNK from someone (doesn't matter who.. lol), and I registered. Fine.

Now, any file I try to download (or upload my own torrents..) I can't - it gives me a tracker error "Cheaters lose their accounts. This has been logged." or something like that.

I'm not a cheater, I just wanna seed some files.. so why can't I do it!??!

Help appreciated,
Thanks,
Rafi

Oink have new scripts in place...

Im pretty sure they now check clients alot easier and have probably flagged yours as a bad client... Its not just hacked clients its also old ones so if your using anything older than 2.4.0.2 then upgrade and try again.

I upgraded today..... :(

I had this problem with my last user on there (which was a VERY long time ago.. way before BitComet was banned, I just never kept the user active.).

Any idea what the source of this problem could be..? :(

I would suggest not trying to DL anything from now and to check the details on the site of the new system thats inplace to see if it can give any clues to what else may cause a Cheat flag to be raised against you.

Stuff like port range IP ISP AV software or anything else that may interfear.

I'd say it's your firewall. I had the same message on UTorrent but only after I installed a new firewal. It had me completly hidden from oink and the tracker thought I was trying to have a free leach. just make sure your not in stealth mode. If that doesn't work check out their forums :)

Make sure you don't have DHT enabled.

What is stealth mode and DHT?

stealth mode is when your firewall "hides" your info from websites, such as browser details and OS details.. in this case, it makes the tracker think you're "cheating" it.
DHT - can't remember.. been a while since i had to know what that was..

does oink really ban for using old clients?

i think it warns (informally at first), which should be enough to change the client and avoid any chance of a ban.

If you enable encryption on one of the older version of Azureus, I believe it sends out bad data to other clients. It's a error that has been corrected in the latest version, but for others that are still using the older version, when other cients connect to them you get many hash check failures. It's very annoying, but the problem is slowly going away.
