American.Pie.Band.Camp = film name
.2005 = year made
.STV (not sure on this)
.DVDRip.XviD = type of rip
-KEG = group that ripped it

not quite sure wtd ur wanting to do it the film, but all that itis is just info about the release...

Theres a piece of software on the scene, that you load an Mp3/Folder into, and you enter information such as the source, ripper etc into the filename.

So for example, a file could be originally

"American Pie Band Camp" but... after being tagged with this software would be "'American.Pie.Band.Camp.2005.STV.DVDRip.XviD-KEG".

I imagine its used alot by people who upload on bit torrents, ftps etc.

Look here, it shows how it is done in Media Player, perhaps other converters have this option as well.
