hi, I know it's very nerve racking for a lot of you to have files uploaded but not to be able to download from that person.
I am one of your leeches by most of your defination. I recieved the letter that some others recieved from Comcast.
I try downloading movies but without much luck. It seems that almost everthing I get is misnamed. :::shrugs::: So goes it.
I do share software files though.
As far as I know you can only block thier IM's. I don't thing there is anyother way outside of canceling them.
I appoligize to all for my not shareing movies, but if and when I get something that is actually what I wanted to download I will gladly share it.

You can manually block ips using Peer Guardian and Netstat -n can show you what ip connections are being made to your computer. Used together, you can block users (at least for a while, till their ips change) from downloading/uploading/messaging you.

You can also cancel uploads, then QUICKLY clear the list before the leech restarts, then reduce the number of max uploads allowed by 1 if they rejoin before someone else does.

Look I have 600k NTL Broad Band in UK 60 - 80kbs download 15 kbs up load max, so what i do is limmit the up loads to give some 2 or 4 up loads good to half good speed. This results in some haveing to que for their up loads from me.

I could unlimit the up loads and then you`ll be pissed off that you are not able to get good speed frome me. the result in both cases is that i will get blocked. Guys get fucking real and just enjoy what ever you can get.

Your like small children "I WANT IT NOW OR I`LL SCREEM & SCREEM" ffs life is too short for this bull shit just do your best and dont worrie if some one is downloading faster than you, good luck to him I say for tomorrow it could be you getting all the speed.

In additon when you start to block you start a ball rolling you block me and then i block you so thats 2 blocked then another gets blocked and so on. Add to this we all have contacts and friends who also so block the same peeps i have blocked so by 1 person blocking we now have the ball rolling. Also I clearly explained why i thought Blocking was not the answer in my other posts. also i have clearly stated with 4,000,000 Kazaa users why worrie just enjoy what you can get and give all that you can u guys see what you want you offer sarcamas as an answer. Read the posts and not just the title try it. You know it makes sense.

guys guys, lots of these leeches do share there files, but use the privacy option. Some of us doesnt want to get sued. In Denmark we have this company, hired by musicians and filmmakers to search kazaa for danish people who share. This company has the courts approval for their methods. I share 30 gbs, but if u right click me and choose, find more from this user, nothing comes up... I think that goes for a lot of guys here.

Anyway, my connection is 512/128, so i can only upload with 16 kb/s anyway, not alot, still sharing though

Ok.. now I'll ask a stupid question. What makes you ASSUME that people are leeching off you? I say ASSUME because there is NO way that you could possibly know.. what if they are simply using the "privacy patch"?? Does that automatically relegate them to this rank??

Hey, I share EVERYTHING I have.. with WHOEVER wants it.. but you're not going to see my list of shares either, I feel that as long as I'm sharing my files, then I did my part.. you type in what your looking for, and wallah..its yours, if I have it, "no questions asked."

However, I'll be damned if I'm going to show a list of all my shares so that some $#!*bag can come along and copy it to send to my ISP as "evidence".
.. its just not gonna happen. Over the past couple of months I have read countless posts on "leeching".. and have seen the definition of the word twisted and distorted to suit whatever the authors opinion happens to be,everything from "I cant see his list" to "he's not allocating enough bandwidth".. I've been cut off many times because I dont show my list.. I just move on, and recommend that everyone do likewise.

If you're going to sit there and monitor every upload.. its not the "leechers" that you should be worrying about.

I share all and down load as i want, that was untill some one thought i was leeching and blocked me. U harm the inocent in blocking i have over 1,700 files in my folder and i do my best to offer the best up load speeds available or possible with my limmited resources. I am being blocked why cos dick heads like the ass who started this thread think blocking is the answer. its not&#33; Beanno took what i said personaly and i wonder why. I believe the reason you see problems downloading is most likely because of people like you. Maybe in a few years, or even months, 75% of the network will be leechers and then see how well it runs.

lol, i was reading this topic and came to the conclusion that Unafraid Cheese is a total asshole. Ialso do not think that kazaa or any other p2p networks will ever die, because there are always people that are willing to share what they have. If kazaa is ever shut down, another program will rise over it. if it is shut down another wil ltake over, and so on. also new p2p programs are being made all the time. there are tons of the mout there now. p2p will never die, even if leechers do exist. search download.com youll find tons of them.

Yes I believe this was one of the options. Number two as I recall.

Now let&#39;s be fair. This is a great loss. We won&#39;t be able to read the chaps incisive comments any more. Neither will we have access to his 1,700 files.

We will just have to cope with the 915,572,247 files still available.

well ive got the solution to help me with this problem. I share, but with privacy. My username is now "sharing_with_privacy_patch", Then unless peeps cant read they should know im not leeching&#33;

All the Peeps that are obsessed by leeches should just chill out. When I first started using Kazaa I got upset by leeches. Soon however I came to the conclusion that there was bugger all I could do about them and trying to do anything was just too much time and effort.

So I say just chill and let the leeches get on with it. As far as I can see I still get everything I want and that’s good.

I am on Broadband and share everything I download. I leave four upload slots open so when people connect to me they get a decent speed.

Unafraid Cheese is unafraid because he is obviously lacking the brainpower to be afraid. The cheese bit is because he smells bad like certain types of cheese but hey he can’t help it so don’t be too harsh on him.

well maybe, but users that dont know about the patch, probably dont follow the kazaa news that much. They probably dont even know the first thing about leeches, or just dont care. I mean, if u dont know a thing about the network and the program, why bother to block users?

Usually, if someone is using the privacy patch they have Kazaa Lite++... and if that&#39;s the case their Participation Level shows up as 1,000 (or greater).

So if I see someone with a 1,000 PL and they have no files shared and they&#39;re not sucking down >1/2 of my upload bandwidth while EVERYONE else is left with crumbs, I usually message them and let my upload to them continue. But if they&#39;re getting a majority of my upload bandwidth I message them and disconnect the upload within about 5 minutes. The message is the same in either case. I don&#39;t even mention specifically that I disconnected them, the network&#39;s notorious for random kick-offs anyhow.

File availability, especially for rare+large files, increases little if you upload a file to 10 leeches.

Even though leeches may make up 40% or less of the network, they get more than their percentage in my upload bandwidth if I don&#39;t kick them off occassionally. And this drastically cripples download speeds for everyone else. It&#39;s almost like ONLY leeches can download from me >10 KB/sec. :(

I rather that they share because they want to, then forced them wolves to do so. They can get really mean and ugly... Trust me i know them in and out. The ones who complain are pretty much just leacher. I cannot complain because they are only hurting themselves... killing the sharing community pretty much make many, many others unhappy as well. Just don&#39;t use Kazaa anymore as long as you could which is what I am doing. That is a way to get back at them, not by bitching thought. They can&#39;t hear you&#33;&#33;&#33; or if you shout in their face, they will cover both their ears&#33; Ha&#33; you are just wasting your breath, that my friend, is not a smart thing to do. I&#39;m not forcing leeches to quit being leeches -- I CAN&#39;T.

But when I message them and then cut them off I&#39;m showing them 2 can play at that game

I know how to put on temporary ip blocks using Peer Guardian that will get ONLY them... until they change their ips. But finding me again after changing your ip is VERY difficult and very few do. (Being behind a router forces them to find the same supernode as I&#39;m on to connect.) And even if you DO find me again, you&#39;re at the bottom of the queue -- and I may log off/jump supernode again before you reach the top&#33;

There is benefit in sharing -- some would say only indirect (it maintains the network), but for me it allows me to find other users sharing similar files that I might want. (Cuz they find me first.)
