They changed it because the previous news became older, and recently they have no news, so they just filled the empty field with that sentence.
And I saw your list of trackers. What do you want to find on TB ??? All the other trackers you are member of have all the content of TB and much more.

from what iv heard from a friend, uploads arent great anymore. I used to be a member until i started using newsgroups. I dont think they will open signups, something in my heart is telling me they are ending it here, they will never open sign ups again and just fade away. What a hell of a way to go if they really are, silent.

IMPORTANT - Big Changes at Torrrentbytes

It's been a while since anything major has changed here at Torrentbytes,
but the truth is that changes have been taking place in the back room.
Many months of planning have gone into solving a few major problems,
mainly those of hacked or hijacked accounts.
This may not seem like a huge problem to most of you,
but out of the 6,000+ accounts that have disappeared since sign-up closed,
nearly all of those are disabled hijacked accounts!
The main problem we have had is attempting to prevent this happening,
while at the same time, not making the site more difficult for honest members to use.

We would like to thank our members for their patience throughout this slow period,
and we would like to assure them that big changes are on the way.
Sign-ups will reopen in a couple of weeks, new features and improvements will soon follow.

But first we would like to announce the addition of a few new staff members.
BoB, DXC, Earwig, hoG, and VeryBadGUy are all promoted to Moderator.

A few more additions may take place in the next few weeks,
to accompany the new members, new features and improved security measures.

TB seems to be getting slow in getting scene releases for these last few days... Hmmm... Even RevolutionTT and other lesser known torrent sites are getting the scene released (especially games) ahead of TB. In the past, in was usually TL, then a few hours later, TB. But now, they get them almost 1 day or a day and a half later than TL...

Like everyone else,i'm looking forward to when TB open for sign ups.I've been trying to sign up for a little while,but there always closed.

Many people speak very highly of TB and some say there one of the best torrent sites on the net.I wonder what seperates them from everyone else?

AFAIK, they usually lock up any topics related to queries on signups or invites in their forums so I don't think there would be any. The changes that were mentioned that I have noticed is only changes in the site codes like you can now review all your torrent comments and forum posts via links from one's profile.

TB is currently busy looking to expand their FLS team, new staff members that can help with support, forum etc. Because of this, it seems very unlikely they will open sign up soon because they still have work to do, things to fix up, new staff to recruit etc. Remember, they only open up signup when they believe the time is right.

Ive never heard anything about the sites signups being closed. Not sure where you people get your info about it being closed from. I know for a while they were working on the use of proxies ect.. and trying to stop account hacking. But I still dont recall ever seeing any notice saying they werent allowing signups. For instance if their userbase is 42,000 and their max allows users is 42,000 you cant signup until other users gets purged from the system. Which does happen daily but there are so many people trying to signup that you would think it was closed.

I do know this much for a fact. TB will NEVER be an invite site. They always beleive in open signups. And dont think they would ever have it any other way.
