The closest, and I mean the absolute closest a song has ever come to making me cry (which was not a lot lol, just stirred some deep emotion in me and got my ass in gear to learn guitar) was Fade to Black by Metallica, enough said.

I always cry over children lost , Eric Clapton's Fathers Eyes or John Lennon's Beautiful Boy always make me feel sad . Worse one tho is "My son's going to play in the big league's" by Bruce Cockburn

Worse tho is "Where oh where can my baby be " sung by many .

Even the first lyrics mist me up .

Oh where oh were could my baby be
The lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven so I've got to be good
So I can see my baby when I'll leave this world

[Japan Bonus]
[Music: Orjatsalo, Words: Orjatsalo]

Mercy is for weak
It it blood we all bleed
To kill or to die
The cause of my life
For king for country the patriot has died
In vain he ended his life
Raven flies high, high above the fading light
The covering darkness hides wasteland from the eyes
We all gave our lives
In vain we all died
Blood of our kin
It tainted the soil
Raven flies high, high above the fading light
The covering darkness hides wasteland from the eyes
[Chorus]
Wash away our sins
Salvation in the waves
The seas cold embrace
All your tears in vain
To the night they fade away
The darkness swallows light of day
Only sea remains

Is it this version?:)

It is upon the blood of our kin,
that this nation has been built
With this we hold the will to win,
and the damned now admit they're guilt

Well, usually you don't because of a song by itself. Rather, you cry because the song touches a sensitive part in you. For example, I don't cry over songs either, but there is a song that I remember from my childhood that I love, and it has almost brought me to tears many times when I hear it.
