my wife is worried about wireless "rays" being dangerous for our 10 month kid.
If cell phones are known to do harm, then is wireless not the same?

It would be similar to a cordless phone (non cell).

Output from a cell phone can get up to 2W (occasionally more).

By comparison the maximum output from most wireless network cards tends to be about 60mW, and the maximum permitted is 100mW, about 1/30 of the power of a cell phone.

The danger zone (if it even exists, it hasn't actually been shown to be harmful) for cell phones is reckoned to be within about 30cm for young children, so the danger zone for a wireless network (if one exists) is almost negligible.

lol show her that comparison...she will probly get rid of all the cell phones too! jk but still the wireless output by routers and cards are not much at all...im sure you would hear about it if it was hazordous
