just got a GS-128 Multimedia Speaker System for my grandma, but the thing is, although the left speaker is on (that's the one with the power button and the volume control), only the right one actually produces sound.. huh:

Why is this?? And no, the speakers did not arrive with a disk or anything.. it's a type of plug and off you go type of thing...

Any help appreciated, thanks :)

Sounds like the left speaker is dead on arrival?

As long as everything is plugged in, it should work. :P

Return it or get a replacement? =/

Before you go RMAing anything....
Check the plug. Seriously.
Not the power into the wall mind you, the phono plug into the sound card.
Wiggle it, check to see if it's plugged in all the way, etc.

It is a USB speaker system.. and to be honest, the plug seems fine.. I'm gonna take it home and try it at home see if there is any difference, and if not, I'll be taking it back to Office Depot..

Not wishing to state the obvious, but there's no like, balance or anything, that is set to the right. Either on the speakers, or the 'puter... :dabs:

Can't you just hit it with the butt of a rifle or something.

It is a USB speaker system..

Ahhh...I was thinking along the lines of the phono type plugs.
Don't know how many times I thougt a pair of headphones were shot 'til I pushed and pulled on the plug a bit.

@ lynx - shooting it usually does the trick faster.
