Your post is very unclear.

MSI website shows this: http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=P4N_Diamond&class=mb

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/mb_image/MS-7160.jpg

Doesn't show any fans.

On the webpage where I bought the thing it's linked to this http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=663 who got the fan on the chipset but I guess it's another version of the thing.

I guess they linked to the wrong page.

www.msi.com.tw is the authoritative site for Micro-Star, so I'd normally be tempted to believe that one rather than www.msicomputer.com, which is basically the US site.

However, some regional msi sites I've looked at show a fan, others show just a heatsink. On the ones showing a fan, it appears to be simply fastened on top of the heatsink on those without a fan.

I guess you'll find out when it arrives.

Thanks for the clarification. I always end up with more answers than questions about the MSI sites and the different versions of motheboards etc. Maybe it is my head but I find Asus etc. better that way.

I find Asus better full stop (period).

I like Gigabyte and boards that support AMD processors.

But if I were to go with Intel, I'd be sure to go with the Pentium D805 2.66 and a board that supports DDR2 @800MHz.
