sArA

Got an interview for a 'proper' job on thursday...:)

Got to be there for 10.30 and my interview is at 5pm (I am assuming I will get fed and watered, and probably a bit of a guided tour sorta thing)

I have to give a 10 minute presentation on:

'my research, summarising methods used, and showing its relevance to the Policy Oriented Social Sciences agenda.' :stars:

feck!

:hic:

Given the timetable as outlined, one suspects there may be more to it than a 10 minute presentation and an interview.

Public policy research...case studies, analysis using largely qualitative tools, literature review, write papers, reports etc. Contribute generally...which means a bit of dissertation supervision, the odd seminar and maybe a bit of teaching....which would be nice.

It is a public policy/social sciences project, something to do with examining the influence on society of central government's policy towards social control....amongst other things...

I have lost the fucking notes I wrote when I phoned them up for more info.....bollocks.... :hic: They were good notes as well, about 4 pages...bollocks, bollocks, bollocks....

I won't know until Tuesday evening as they have 2 others to interview on Tuesday. What a bugger....

Hope so manky.....it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that we still haven't sold BF's house after that git pulled out 4 days before completion....hence one wage and 2 mortgages at the moment. :(

Yeah, I heard that in sunny Scootlund people aren't allowed to do that without paying some kind of fine or somat. I wish it was so here too, it really should not be allowed to keep people hanging on for 4 months and then to withdraw a few days before....it really is not Cricket at all!

Once the deal is done, the deal is done.

There ain't no going back, no gazzumpin or any pish like that.

Series of events.

1. I'm selling my house for over £100,000

2. I'll gie ye £120,000 fur it.

3. OK well.

Sorry if that go a bit technical near the end. It's difficult to simplify.

sArA

Here it is slightly different.

1. Selling my house for over £100,000

2. I'll give ya £120,000 for it mate...I already have a mortage set up (honest)

3. Yeah, great.

4. tick...tock....tick...tock

5. do you still want it then cos if not, I will put it back on the market?

6. Yeah, yeah....definately...waiting on (insert excuse here)

7. tick...tock...tick...tock

8. You sure?

9. Yeah....honest

10. tick...tock...tick....tock

11. Nearly done now....few more days and all will be well

12. Great....(been waiting for bloody ages, about time)

13. Actually, I lied...can't get the money, thought I would just string you along to see if I could raise the cash, then thought I would avoid answering the phone to string it out a few more days.

14. Thanks for nothing Cunt you just fucked up my entire year.

As you can see, a smidgen more complex here in Ingerland.
