GPU is everything.

With a 6600GT, you'll prolly run low-mid settings with reasonable settings,

Yes you could get resonable fps with that setup, i was getting 50-60 fps avg on my old setup (P4 2ghz, 512 PC 2100, GF FX5200) that was with texture and model quality set to high.

I have no card... its intigrated. The minimum settings say 1.2ghz, 256 ram, 32meg card.

I could run integrated on my current setup but i only got about 20-25 fps tops... It lagged like a whore.

lol i dunno but i doubt an integrated will work on a half life 2 engine, especially if its ONLINE gameplay. i get around 40-60 FPS with my comp.

A lot of integrated GPUs are really poor with 3D. If you're willing to shell out about $30 you can get a Radeon 9250 based card. I read from a NewEgg review that someone is playing CS Source at 1152x854 with high settings, no AA or anything, at 30 fps paired with a Sempron 2800+. Good luck.

Just grab any crappy GPU for under $50 bucks, might as well.

Heck, buy a X300, or even better a X1300 and you even get HDR:)

won't buy what? css? DoD? hl2? wtf? also, my buddy wanted to play me in some css and he also had integrated. video lag, lag, lag!!!! very, very unplayable. seriously, if u have no money and want to play games. quit looking @ today's newest games. cuz ur just not gonna be able to play them and if u could by any means it would taint the experience.

so, he bought this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143058) card and gets around 50 fps on medium settings and is now enjoyable.
