you can download the microsoft.net framework from Windows Update (http://www.windowsupdate.com)
it's quite a big download, approx 23 meg i think

Yes, these new projects known as the ".NET Framework" are the beginning of a new erra. It originated from a Microsoft .NET Passport and ever since, it has moved to Visual Studio .NET 2002 & 2003, all the way along to Windows .NET Server 2003.
