Alright I have IE, Firefox, and Netscape on my computer. All three were working fine. However one day I get on my computer and go to IE and it give me the error page as if I didnt have an internet connection. I check and I do have a connection, so I fire up netscape and my download program and my antivirus update and they all work just fine however from that point on IE and Firefox both do not put up any pages, its really strange, any suggestions?

Have you removed any anti spy ware or virus lately ? Sometimes they will screw up your homepage . Can you search or Google from IE or FF or put in a web address manually say like "http://www.google.ca/ " for example .

Theres an option in IE. To work offline or connect to internet. That should have popped up. Reboot & open up IE again. Then choose connect.

There is no problem with viruses or working offline. I went back and set everything to default and it still dosent connect.

I have a hunch it may have something to do with spyware programs. I recently tried out disk doctor or something like that recommended on cnet download. Anyways it always gives you that warning of are you sure you want to delete these files, they may result in a loss of functionality of your programs. I dont understand how they would allow something from IE to be deleted if this was actually the cause of the problem. Anyways is there such a thing as "reparing" IE? Just another suggestion, the problem still isnt fixed.

Your best bet now if that is what you think did it is to do a system restore back to the point prior to installing disk doctor.

System Restore is in Start , All programs, Accessories , System Tools . Thats if you have it enabled .

Don't know if this will help ,sure wont hurt tho . I'm not that bright but have seen this from my own experiences with some spyware programs ,fixing LSP may help .
