Might be long shot but know some rarely reboot and whenever Ive had an issue with a DVD like that a quick reboot solves it. Cant suggest much more than that other than maybe asking at thier forums...

What media are you using? It could be defective.

Also... I recommend that you use DVD Decrypter to burn ISO (mode>ISO>write).

Have you tried slowing down your write speed to see if thats causing the error.

If the error is at 50%, it's defective media or a problem with the drive when it's starting to burn on the 2nd layer. When it passes 50%, it becomes inconstant between 1X and 3X until fail?
It could be a laser calibration problem also and if it's that, there's nothing to do but buy a new one or if it's in warranty period, get a new one

Have you tryed to update the firmware?
Also try DVD Decrypter for ISO burns.

Be cool

Google "Layer Break Error" and see what you find.
