But what would be the use of any of us doing it for you?
If you don't understand how to work it out, then ask your teacher.

You'll just get yourself into more trouble by not doing it.

is it like a and b are diff numbers or a * b.c :S it's a bit confusing.

Indeed, it's algebraic pish. You would either use the convention ab or a.b to represent a multiplied by b.

If you're quite young it could be as simple as
a=3
b=6
c=5
100 - 36.5 = 63.5 ?

if i'd thought about it before posting the first one that occurred to me then i would have realised that any 2 numbers adding up to 9 could be a and b so
a =1 b=8,
a=2, b=7
etc

Indeed, there was me thinking it was badly written algebra. It's not maths, it's a silly wee puzzle.

Yeah, I got this straight away. 8 possible answers. (not counting Tesco's)

100 - 81.5 = 18.5
100 - 72.5 = 27.5
100 - 63.5 = 36.5
100 - 54.5 = 45.5
100 - 45.5 = 54.5
100 - 36.5 = 63.5
100 - 27.5 = 72.5
100 - 18.5 = 81.5
