I know this should be in software or something but I'm a lounge cat and my current state of mind doesn't allow me togo wandering outside the bounderies of my usual habitat

Therefore;

can someone please explain how I open a dll file?
I need it so I can play my new stolen game:naughty:

Double click it and Windows'll ask if you want to ad it to the registry.
If it's a game though, there's a good chance you have to copy it to the installation folder instead, thus overwriting another .dll file with the same name.

Any instructions came with the game with the game at all? .txt or .nfo file maybe?

http://www.brothersoft.com/security/miscellaneous/pe_explorer_637.html

it's shareware with a 30 day limit, however I don't imagine you'll need it much longer than that. I don't know if it will do everything you want, I'm a cawk at computers.

Mno, there's nothing there
It doesn't say anything about the registry, it just wants to know what program I want to open it with

JPaul,

tried that thingy. Don't have clue what it did...
It opened the file but I don't know what to do with it next. It just looks like a list of parameters

Why couldn't that idiot just give me the bloody code without putting it in some obscure format nobody knows???

Well I think you need to disassemble the dll, make your amendments then reassemble it, however I have no idea what that means.

A Direct Link Library file isn't meant to be opened by itself. It's part of something else.

It's a Dynamic Link Library file and it isn't part of something else, that's the whole point, they can be used by many programmes. It's a way of saving RAM memory.

Alright,

I've downloaded a game including the crack. The game was in a folder with 3 files; .txt, .exe,.dll

the txt file just contains information about where the torrent came from, the exe starts the game but only gives 60 minutes of the trial version, so I presume the crack is in the dll file. However, I can open the file but I don't understand how to interpret it.
Hence... I can't find the crack code

you need to copy the exe over to the game directory and replace the original.

edit: and also the dll, i imagine

Agreed, I was going to post the bit about the dll, but you corrected yourself.

Long story short.

Install the game, then copy the exe and the dll to the installation folder. If it asks you to overwrite then say yes.

I always thought it was Dynamtic Linking Library File and no you can't open it by it's self . You should look for the EXE. or nfo file when opening game files .

Na, it's not for the hun bf

It's something called Da Vinci's secret. Puzzle game basically. I quite like the things.

I'll try that whole copy thing tomorrow. Although I'm not quite sure what you mean with game directory

1. install the game
2. put those files in the folder where you installed the game

I presume you have installed the game? You did download the game as well as the crack, n'est ce pas?

Skweeky

The files are in the same folder as the game.

JPaul

The files are in the same folder as the game.
Have you actually installed the game.

Do that.

Then copy the other files into the same install directory.

It should ask you if you want to overwrite the existing files.

Just say yes (as opposed to drugs, Kids. Then just say no.)

It is extremelly unlikely that you will need to disassemble a dll file in order to run Barbie Mermadia.
