View Full Version : How Do I Find Out The Power Of My Psu?

i need to know how many watts my power supply unit is, it has no sticker on it and i tried sisandra 2003 but cant find power supply unit bit

is there anything in windows i can do to find out or is it on si sandra and ive missed it?

On every computer that I've had, there was/is a sticker on the PSU itself stating everything you would need to know :)

hmm ok it must be on the bottom ill unscrew it and have a look

this may sound a bit obvious, but the psu is gonna be very hot
it's probably the component at highest temperature in your system
throw some water on it to cool it down, that always works

this won't really work sadly :(
it would be too hard to calculate the power precisely due to the number of power outputs in the psu
there are various outputs (3.3V, 5V and 12V for example), so using this equation would be inneffective.

Where did you get your system from? If it was from a big name company, you might be able to go to their web site and find detailed specs about your particular model. I know you can do that with a Gateway, at least.

Try to find out were the PSU came from or even the p.c if you bought it then type it ito Google to see if anyhting comes up on it thats what i would do mate....
