I bought a new one of those in April of last year. I'd always wanted one and heard they weren't going to make them anymore.

Weird that you got rid of yours (presumably) when you found out your missus was pregnant and I bought mine shortly after my lad was born.

Ohh, Yours is the TF, which is (supposedly) much improved. :idunno:

Of course it's a good long-term investment. It's a car...

Mine was built in 1997, and I sold it in 2004, so it was 7 years old. It had suspension problems, brake problems, and something was up with the engine computer because it kept over-revving when stationary.

The door thing was a joke. It sort of started "drooping", which then fecked up the central locking, so they had to take it off completely and remount it. Then they decided that they needed to replace the central locking because it was fecked. It was only later that I noticed that the repositioned door was actually rubbing against the front wing when you opened it. doh!

Of course, I informed the buyer of all these things when I sold it :sly:

How do you find filling up with petrol? On mine, it used to take ages because you can only squeeze the pump handle a little bit at a time, because otherwise it shuts off :frusty:

I found it kept shutting off at first, I was used to filling up the the other car, but I've got used to it now - just got to hold it at a weird angle. I'm sure JP or Big Les will be along shortly to tell us it's because of the juxtaposition of the fuel injectors to the turny bits attached to the wheel maniframe. Or something equally fascinating.

Had to park there because I had beers in the boot and if I'd not managed to skillfully reverse into that space, I'd have had a three mile hike up hill and down dale to my mate's flat.

We don't really get many traffic wardens around here anyway.

I've got no problem with Peugeots, but my experience is very limited.

The reason I got the Renaults was because they are excellent value for money and have good safety features. They are nice looking, reliable, economic cars.

I specifically got the ones I did because they are group 2 insurance and are taxed at the lower level. Whilst still looking OK to an 18 year old. At least the black one is.

However I am a stunningly old person.

I just use the car for work, so it's his in the evening and at week-ends. If I need a car I'll use his Mam's. I'm using Mrs JP's for work this week as he is off , so he can have it all the time.

I think I said before, I specifically bought that one cause he liked the shape and colour, but with the wee engine and the security (RAID) the insurance is OK. It's actually quite nippy about town as it happens and a piece of pish to park.

Nissan make good reliable cars. Fact.

Pretty good, true.

The Z cars made nice platforms for modification, too-I converted one each of the 240 and 260 to 302V8 Ford and 350V8 Chevrolet engines, respectively, and they were brutally fast; downright twitchy to drive.

Great, great fun. :)

I was thinkng more of the "off the shelf", drivers mate. Not overhauled, customized mentalness on wheels.

I've driven a good few Nissans (left as God intended) and they are good reliable cars and nice drivers.

And I was agreeing with you.

The rest was random addenda.

The problem with a lot of Jags is that they are all boot and bonnet. Big fecking long cars, but no actual space for people.

However if you are two up they are oft times magnificent. Not the BL ones tho', they didn't know how to make cars.

Stop starting sentences with conjunctions. It does you no credit.

There's barely enough room for a BJ in most Jags.

I saw this beatiful bright shiny yellow v12 viper at a light a little while ago. I revved the engine on my 21 year old 200sx, he revved his. When the light changed I'd say he was half a mile ahead when I heard him shift into second.

A 1999 Honda Accord LX is what I'll soon inherit from my parents. Not bad at all for a first car.

My first car was a Mercury Sable.:dabs:

On another note, it's really killing me not to have a truck now. It's becoming a neccessity.:(

Anytime I wanna bring supplies, piping, whateverthefuck, I have to fucking fold down my seats and manuever alla whicha way and in most cases, borrow my uncles pick-up (which ain't always available). Fuck.

Someone needs to come up with a decent big truck with decent gas mileage. They'd sell a phenomenal amount.
