Is putting a p after a number a lazy way to say "pounds" or does it have to mean "pence"

like,

12p

or

12 p

because i thought i remembered seeing something like that here now i have started a discussion about it with someone on the internet and they are saying it means pence

i tried to search for "p" using search and i didn't get any results that sorted it out

Syntax is not universal, languages tend to have their own.

I have a Canadian Multilingual keyboard and I still have no need for the £ key. :snooty:

That would be fun.

If I tell XP that I have a canadian keyboard it gives me french characters...because all canadians are french speaking. :frusty:

Atleast this is how it was in windows 98... When I formatted for my first time I chose canadian layout for obvious reasons and that ended up causing a lot of heaedaches until a neighbour told me what to do.

I'm at a loss to understand why "Multilingual" would have a capital "M". It must be a Canadian thing. No wonder you guys can't get your own keyboard layout.

That's how it's called by Microsoft. In fact it's called "Canadian Multilingual Standard".

Look it up in "Text Services and Input Languages".

That is one of the ugliest excuses for a sentence I have failed to avoid reading in quite some time.

Anyhow, Ross tell it you have an "English UK" keyboard. Then all your problems am be solved in one go.

You know it makes sence.
