I see a lot of people posting things with the group as like a.b.boneless. Do they mean that's actually the name or is it short for alt.binary.boneless?

a.b stands for alt.binaries (not binary as you typed)

We use a.b. here instead of alt.binaries. because it's shorter and quicker to read. :)
