N E 1 Get An Im Spoof On Kazaa?

They send some huge warning with a bunch of text explaining your illigal activity, but if it's automated...how does it scare someone?

I'm wondering if it's perhaps because of the change in the @. RN set the default of the last name to @RIAA. Maybe that's why some people think RIAA was messaging them?

well, think the RIAA would use just about anyname....more than likey use defualtuser@kazaa or one of the most commonly used ones.

I think that they just search for a popular song and send a IM to everybody that is in the search results.

I'm downloading from a user that has @RIAA but i'm not worried b/c i saw
in development something bout changing that yourself and peerguard isn't showing anything.

Strange enough, this user with @riaa is a k-lite forum member!

No IMs from RIAA or anyone else. I do gets lots of "A/S/L" and "thanks for the great files." Guess their big, scary, IM tactics aren't working. :huh:

dlingeverything, seems you didn't know about the new K++.

RN is short for Random Nut, the person who made K++.
In his latest one, you can change the ending, he set it by default @RIAA

Name: LastName
Default: "KaZaA"
Description: This must be a string. If non-blank, this is the last part
of your name, eg: user@KaZaA. You can change it to any name
you want but be careful: If you can't connect to the FastTrack
network it's probably because your user name and LastName are
too long, or that your LastName contains invalid characters.
It can only contain the same characters as your user name. Max
length is 32 characters, but Kazaa limits this to less than
that, so keep trying until you find one that works...
