Winxp Media Center

Can I use winXP Media Center with a comon remote control for computers? I've got one to use with winamp.

As long as the software bundled with that remote is compatible with WinXP.

As I understand it though, the remote included with the
Mediacenter will operate the audio/video software bundled with it.
