If you have a Firewall like Zone Alarm Pro and use Firefox as your browser, you won't have to worry about pop ups.

Perhaps zak prefers IE to FF; I do.

Outpost Firewall and Kaspersky Internet Security both have efficient ad and popup blocking ability.
The first thing to do, however, is change IE's popup blocker settings to block all except those from sites you specify.
Add FST and Google to the allowed sites as a start and add others as you see fit, when the need arises. You can always remove sites from the list if you find they're taking the piss - I have with Tesco and Argos :)

I have Firefox and it blocks most pop-ups. There are some pop-ups that still get through the blocker, which annoys the hell out of me.

Better pop-ups stopper than firefox is avant browser, could stop some of the pop-ups i tested it on that firefox couldn't or any other software i tryed. I tryed around 15 pop-up stoppers but avant browser was the best of em.

adblock plus is great, and you can get filtersetG with a list of ad sites to block, and an updater to keep it up to date.

I haven't seen an ad in months..

Ya I forgot about filterset .G used with adblock . I don't see many pop ups as I use F-Secure 's pop up tools and FF .

While searching the web for another topic found this site that tests your Pop up tools .

Use the NoScript extension with Firefox, it will let you whitelist which sites you want to run scripts with. It rocks!
