Eventually, he made me some poached egg on toast and I made a cup of tea. Only to discover that the water has been contaminated so we had to pour it away...

Police is handing out bottles of water everywhere

You say that so offhandedly...."the water has been contaminated"...like it happens all the time.
How did such a thing happen in a country as modern as Scotland?

There's a burst pipe somewhere and the polics was handing out bottles of water.
It can't be that serious, it's not like they chapped the door or anything

Right?

How bizarre, I merely pointed out that scrambled eggs were not "just fecked-up omelette" and you have taken this is a culinary affront. It must be a gurl thang.

However I am happy to join you in a cooking competition. Why not open it up a bit tho'. Let some of the hoi polloi in on the act. I'm game if you are.

The difficulty can be side-stepped by employing a very large microwave and a small person to scramble the eggs while cooking them.

I imagine a two-or-three-year-old child would work nicely. :)
