Windows ME

Hi i have just fixed my old computer which has windows me as its original licence. Since its an old computer i wouldnt want to install windows Xp(wouldnt be compatible)and even if i did it wouldnt be genuine. Any idea where i can get the windows me from.:(

I wanna stay legit if you know what i mean....or will my licence work on them. If so can you tell me where to get it from. As you know i had lost the ME disk that was originally distributed with my pc.:cry: So if these work then i will be glad to use them.

Ime. One of the only ways to get ME. Is to get it in one of those all in one M$ OS collections. Like 10 in 1 etc. Never seen ME separately.

Well at least everybody viewed the link and downloaded from it. Thats why such posts are for, im happy to serve :P. Are you sure?:huh: My sister has an old Micron Computer that had WinME running at 666Mhz 128 RAM 20GB HD. I upgraded (well reloaded) her using my registered WinXP disc from Dell.

It's slow, of course, but some tweaking no themes, it works and is stable.:happy:

Like I've said before in another thread I was able to activate WinXP usng my same serial, passes WinAdvantage program too. Kinda wierd :ermm: , but anyways...

Point is: Old computer no matter what the "Designed For" label says you can probably run WinXP. (Then again if your computer is like 166Mhz with 32 RAM, that wouldn't work :pinch: )

I see the results of this philosophy every day and it's just not worth it.
If you don't have a minimum of a 1GHz CPU and 512MB of RAM XP just crawls.
Toss in Norton and AOL (both real crowd pleasers) and you have the perfect recipe for suicide.

For some reason, practicioners of the "just slap XP on it" theory are also inordinately fond of animated cursors (their fave being the skindiver/starfish) and the fishtank screensaver.
