I kind of work on the assumption that everyone does, on a daily basis.

When I'm having trouble I try the old 'self-hypnosis' trick of completely relaxing all muscles starting from the feet and working towards the head.
Doesn't always work though. In that case I take the alarm clock into the living room and put on a DVD - the director's commentaries are great for nodding off to.

hah, yes indeed. directors commentaries are more theraputic than golf. It's actually interesting in some points allowing you to go on with the viewing for a few moments.
get a baby, it will solve the problem

Nothing more than the usual...
Just can't seem to get to sleep as I used to be able to.
Might be the meds o_O

More likely all that extra stuff on your bed.
Put things right.

I've dealt with insomnia for years. The only thing that I've found that'll put me out for a couple hours (if it's being especially irritating) is copious amounts of drugs and alcohol.
You won't find any doctor recommending that though.

Yes.
Nevertheless, I was thinking in German, and not for any particular reason.
