You can make a custom install CD.

use nLite to integrate SP2

Here's where to get the files its the same as the ones we all ordered on cd awhile back . SP2 contains ALL SP1 updates by the way .

Setup doesn't recognize bigger than 130 gb but that doesn't mean you can't use your whole disk.
But you will have other problems with SP2, when you have it installed your earlier version of XP will be too old and you won't be able to install a new windows of your old XP cd.

You can install your original pre sp1 Windows XP and then use the SP2 to update it.

You could also slipstream it as mentioned earlier.

SP2 can be downloaded from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en

Im going to try to "slipstream" first..now I dont know how this works but the guy told me that my HD was too big to install the xp as it is currently. so if i didnt want to slipstream it, how would i go about installing it?

If you don't slipstream it you can still install it but you won't be able to use the full size of your new large HDD. So in effect you lose valuable drive space.

But if I install SP2 will it free it up..or will I still be missing that 30 GB?

Once you have SP2 you'll be able to use the drive's full capacity.

Why don't you just install XP on some small partition and later create the partition ?

If your windows doesn't like large hard drives why don't you just partition the one you have into several smaller ones with its formating disk.

I'd recommend from experience partitioning the drive that way when you have to do a reinstall you don't lose everything else on the drive.
Note to self...Remember to back things up it saves time and grief later.

What does my last post say? Seems windows has relized its not a legit version..and I have this icon in the corner saying that its not a genuine copy. Does this go away or will I have to live with it.

But you were unclear as to how you got to that point.

Do you have XP Corp? Do you have any Service Packs 1 or 2 ?

Did you get full access to your drive?

You could post a bit of information that would make it easier to follow you.

Have any of you snatched ETH0's monthly releases of XP Pro? I'd like to get one of them but I don't want the WGA Tool and I can't remember which month they started to include it in their releases?

I think I know what you mean I just D/L release 2006-08-16 with the wga crack in the ETHO folder , you don't have to use it tho .
