Untill now AviPreview seems to be the standard previewing program for
k-lite. Well maybe you should change this.
Reasons:
- it can only preview standard video types (.mpg, .avi etc)
- it always errors on XviD over here, just stops
- needs to pre-process the video files before being able to play
- doesn't update the current downloaded data while playing
- uses a lot of memory

Solution:
VideoLAN, also freeware, available on www.videolan.org
This program can also play .bin files etc. You can even directly
play a file from a network with it...

We include AVI Preview because it is small (5% of the size of VideoLAN).

Other than that I agree that VideoLAN is better.

You can tell K-Dat to use VideoLan.

Just open file / preferences and add it into the list.

Then when you right click you can use whatever prog you have included there.

AviPreview didn't work for me either. I use Kazaa File Preview Extractor. A clean version without spyware can be found on the internet. Works for me.

I am still Overly Impressed with AviPreview and regard it as one of the greatest discoveries in the history of .dat
i have VL and use it only when things go bad.

i still think divfix (http://www.divfix.maxeline.com/) is the best program for previewing avi files.

I would have to agree there, you have to download a MASSIVE percentage of the file to be able to preview a SMALL percentage of it!

Yes it is free of spyware, etc... but it's not that great a program!
