I downloaded The Da Vinci code DVD9 and wanted to strip it down and compress to DVD5, well, on the DVD9 and DVD5 I've made the film stops at 1hr 22mins, have heard a few people have the same problem.

Would there be something in the DVD telling it to switch from layer1 to layer2 at that point? If there is, how could I remove it?

If it is doing this on the DVD9 that you downloaded..it is in the rip itself...
compressing it won't solve it.

I know, but what will solve it is my question.

edit reason; DVD5 stops on my standalone at 1 22 and DVD9 stops on pc at 1 22 using Videolan but plays on using PowerDVD.

I don't use dvd9 yet, I'll wait til the media gets up to speed and more affordable. There is something called layer break that you can play with that may be worth looking into.

there are releases online that fixed this issue.

The Da Vinci Code PAL 2006 DVDR-SS2Gohan

Thanks IKE, already grabbed the Rental DVD5 which works fine.:D

Still got the DVD9 and after wasting 15gb of bandwidth on it(still got 3.5 gig to up) would like to know what software I'd run it through to fix it, then I could have a practice at stripping a DVD9 down to exactly what I'd like left to get the highest quality video.

I would check and see if DVDRhelp.org has any tutorials on doing this. They ussually have any information ive ever needed for fixing and converting movies.
