The idiot's right, culture should be subject to market forces.

Good post Busy, your use of bad spelling to signify irony is nothing short of singular.

Europe has a lot of very old stuff...

Europe has lots of markets and old stuff....

Europe has a lot of traditions which are very old...

Europe is mature like a good cheese or wine...

Mmk true. America is newer than Europe, so to speak. However, Europeons are mostly into Europeon stuff. Americans, American stuff, mostly.

It doesn't make us uncultured to not know your great pop stars.:dabs:

Btw, I don't think Cheese is mature at all.:snooty:

No it isn't, tit.

Ask the people who have lived there for thousands of years. The people with rich and varied cultures.

Not all of them, yet.

However they are trying.

I don't feel you needed to use 'yet' in that sentence, since that would have been implied in the following sentence.

Pedantry :dabs:

Didn't they exterminate them?

Yes but some of their offspring survived and they were given casinos.

We have yet to meet a thousand year-old person though.

European pop trends don't often drift over here, which is maybe a good thing given the standard of the last few years Eurovision Song Contest.

It's either because the Channel prevents the music from floating over - a natural barrier - or, more likely, we just don't take an interest. Europe looks at us more than we look at it. Young Europeans speak better English than most young Brits speak another European language, and they know more about our culture then we do about the individual European countries. It's just misplaced snobbery and an overinflated sense of superiority on our part.

A really gay Europop singer. Had the hit "Shut up and Sleep with me, come on why won't you sleep with me." (Check the lyrics) His fan page is awsum http://www.sin-with-sebastian.de/

Think Bo's been at the guest book (Entry 178)

Well, that and the fact that mainland Europe is a dirty smelly bumhole, and English is the only language that makes sense on the internet :smilie4:
