There's a thread (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/bittorrent/t-signups-open-post-torrent-sites-open-signups-thread-117091/page57) for trackers with open signups.

ADC is down.

from http://asiandvdclub.org/index.html:

I want my ADC! >_<

Yep, Asian DVD Club is down. Why, you might ask. This time it is not a government raid, no maintenance, or internal testing.

Long story short:
This time it is plain simple sabotage.

Short story long:
The people that has been with ADC since the start know that our site have been based on simple, humble principles, open registrations, light moderation in the forums and a generally laid back attitude. We let the users shape the community, we implement the features the users want, everything from golden torrents, to new categories to the burning man, we have those goofy periods when the site gets invaded by hamsters that runs all over, or turkeys march across our logo. But mainly we have always maintained a friendly attitude towards other BitTorrent sites.

We don't see ADC as some kind of project to boost our egos, we don't believe a high amount of members make us better than any other site. In fact, ADC was founded and created by members of another community FSC (Fantastic Super Club), we have always maintained a friendly and healthy relation between the sites. And not so long ago Cinematik was founded by members from the ADC community. Our relation to Cinematik is also friendly and healthy. We promote each other on each other sites, a lot of users have found our community through cinematik or FSC. And a lot of their users have found their community through ADC.

We don't compete, we don't trash-talk each other, we don't spread rumors, we don't see this as some kind of race for the users. and we certainly do not try to manipulate our community in believing this and that. We just provide a platform for people to share media with other movie enthusiasts, make some friends and have a good time.

However, there are other sites that on the contrary sees us as an enemy, they engage in everything from leaving abusive comments in our temporary blog, encouraging people to "hit and run", spreading rumors, to downright sabotage. Some of you might had noticed the "incident" we had a few days ago where the front page redirected you to the web site of the swedish anti piracy bureau. This was done by an exploiting a weakness in our source code. Immediately the same people started spreading rumors that we had been shut down, or that the people that got redirected had been banned.

The weaknesses was patched, and now this happens. We get ddosed. Once again the people doing this are giggling and patting each other on the back, taking pleasure in that our community is unavailable to our users.

But I am confident that this move by them is not winning them any sympathy or users. It only causes frustration amongst the community, neither the staff or our users is interested in childish "site wars" or races. Me and the rest of the staff is not suffering because of this, we just think it is sad that our users cannot access a site we have put down so much time and energy on, and the users have waited so long for.

Our ISP will reroute or block the attacks ASAP, it should not take more than a day. Until then the site will be unavailable, the ddos-attacks are causing massive load, rendering the site useless for its intended users.

On another more brighter note.

The beta test was a success, we got to stress test our tracker and forum, a lot of bugs was reported and fixed, and a lot of suggestions are still to be implemented. We are very happy with the result of our new forum and hope that the community will grow even more with this new forum.

The site has been somewhat chaotic but this friday/saturday you will notice that it will become more orderly and work a lot smoother. We will also have a vote for a controversial rule, after all, we want the members to shape the site, not the admins!

We, the whole staff would like to thank all of you for being so supportive, see you soon on ADC!

Don't stop your torrents

As long as you don't stop the torrents you are currently running, you won't lose the peers, and you'll still be able to download.
