Hey guy's i just got a call from my ISP saying thay have done some researching and they have seen a massive amount of uploads over the last month or two. The reason they called me was because they were concerned we might have a virus.

Now lets just say for argument sake that there may be some questionable thing being downloaded and also uploaded (seeded), what would be the best thing to do? Stop Seeding excessive amounts? Or ignore the call and say that the uploads are all correct for what we are doing.

a virus hahahaha, 1 virus lol ?
Why would ISP care for your viruses, my ISP only cares about money and they would be happy if i bought more when something would go wrong.

It is impossible that your ISP will call you if you got virus.

I get a warning every now and then from my ISP stating that if I stay on track with my current usage stats....I will exceed the usage agreement.

I slow down for a few days...then right back to business as usual.

BT traffic is very recognizable, they know what you're doing.

They just haven't had any complaints from copyright holders, so they didn't want to accuse you of anything. It's what's called a 'shake-up call'.

You're using a fair amount of bandwith if they are calling. Depending on the ISP the next step maybe to cap you if things continue. It's all about the $ and bandwith is expensive to create. Especially upload.

They may or may not really know whats going on. At one point way back when i had a problem with posting and using newgroups alot, and they called me and referenced the same virus issue. Thats what they usually say, regardless of what they may or may not know, just be concerned and say you will look into it immediately and stop for awhile and then maybe try to cut down some. GL!

Tell them you are using bittorrent to download and seed linux distributions. Then they can't complain.
