I want a game that me and my buds can play for the weekend, even if the public beta was total shit. We still love BF2 and from what we can tell this is just an expensive mod. You don't have to pay the assholes at EA for a demo.

This is about the possibility of a demo leak, I made this thread a day early to let people know and to anticipate a torrent. now gtfo


This week sees the release of the BF2142 Demo, through several channels and pre-order systems already in place.

The release schedule is as follows:

The Battlefield 2142 demo will be available to customers who have pre-ordered the Battlefield 2142: DICE Collector's Edition on Thursday, 5th October for 24 hours exclusively.

It will then be available on exclusive sites publicly from Friday, 6th October. E.G. The US site for this portion of the release is Gamespot.

The exclusivity period will end at 9AM CET, Saturday 7th October so please refrain from posting the demo until this time. We appreciate your co-operation in respecting the exclusivity arrangements.

I will send out messaging on Saturday as soon as I have the file and have placed it up for download.

Yeah I don't think you'll just get banned necessarily but they might have something like the betas where there's one key per computer. Then they also might not, this is why this thread is here.

i'm glad there are companies such as ea that let games go with little or no support. i don't feel so angry about raven letting "my" sof2 go down the drain. as for bf2142. can't wait! never got into bf19's, but this one looks more my speed. i'll def. check out a demo and most likely burn a copy. hail to private servs and lan parties!

I havnt seen much good talk about it..most people say it feels like a mod with all nerfed guns.

So far it seems alright, the loading bar from hell is slightly quicker now and the login screen takes less than a minute to decide if youve entered an incorrect password :P

One thing i have noticed is how much easier the 'helicopters' are to pilot, you cant pull off tricky stunts with them like in BF2, likewise theres much less skill involved in shooting down the choppers with a tank now that theres a zoom function.

but hey, ill buy it :)

Its alright..I dont like how everything takes 1000 hits to kill. Those stupid walkers take like 6 at to kill.

It would be a good game..if EA ditched the crappy arcade gameplay.

I probably wont buy this game because of two reasons..

1. My PC that is becoming increasingly outdated and I'm too cheap to upgrade

2. The fact that EA doesn't support their games at all. When there was nothing wrong with BF2 they would release a new patch that would totally mess up many peoples ability to play.

Although, BF2 was still a great game even with all the problems with new patches.It's always fun to play and im my mind, never gets boring. If it is easy to pilot helicopters, I disagree with the decision to do so. It's fun when it actually takes skill to fly either a jet or a helicopter in the game, so every noob that comes along can't just hop in and rack up 50 kills in a round.
