Question about Oink and invite leechers

Anyone knows what happen if i invite a leecher, i louse my account or my invites?

Most they would do is lose your invites. I never heard of them banning people cause their invitees are Leechers. They ban for cheaters. I got banned there for once cause I went too much leeching and ratio suffered. They banned me not the person who invited me. But i went ot their IRC and explain the situation and showed them I was still seeding. They gave me a week to get my ratio up, which I did. Pretty good site

neither, they dont care about the leechers people invite. Theres only 2 ways to affect your account by inviting people:

1/inviting someone whos been previously banned gets you a warning that if it happens again youll loose all your invites

2/inviting someone who cheats makes you loose all invites on the first offence

oink doesn't care if you invite leechers, they're more than welcome. of course, they'll get banned eventually, but nothing will happen to you

someone that just leeches or do they do something else with their accounts

I'd not heard of torrent ratio cheating before...Logic would suggest it was inevitable though...it's like everything else in the digital world...if there's the slightest reason to hack something (perhaps even just for the challenge), people will do it.

BTW... what's considered a fair and reasonable ratio on torrent sites? (i.e. what ratio is require in order to NOT be considered a leecher?)

Here in New Zealand most ADSL accounts have uploading limited to 128 or 256K. So uploading as much as one downloads is rather tricky to accomplish!! I'd be keen to know what is expected of me...

Inspired Mind, the lowest ratio on TL is 0.4, you get warned if you go below that, and the power user ratio is 1.05 IIRC, if that helps to answer your question

Over 1. Anyone who thinks otherwise isn't a very good BitTorrent user.

yeah over 1 is good, although you wont get banned on oink if your ratios above 0.6
