I'd like to know what people think of verifieddownloads.com.

I've been using it recently but have found a few things that alarm me.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

i've used it a little lately, the stuff gets here before it gets there... i'm not gonna trust them entirely.. ill trust this forum more... but i can't say that they've given me fake files before...

Well it has fakes on there so personally I think it is a waste of webspace. Verified files that are fake is worse than no verifieds at all.

I don't really go to that site to get verifieds. Is there some kind of file at the site that assumes that? If there is, can you show us?

I seriously hope that isn't true, especially as the site is on the start page for K-Lite.

I was following a thread on here about the new filters in kazaa and noticed one for r@ygold. Later I was searching under 'r' in 'others' section of verifieddownloads.com and noticed that there are files listed for this. I previewed the first few K of one and its definitely very dodgy. I wasnt sure how to voice a concern about this so posted a new thread for advice.

At the very least this should be off the start page. There should be no association with this site, even if it was the best verifieds site on the web (which it certainly is not).

This site does not have much control over its verifieds, like FastTrackMovies which the team at hand personally checks each file it posts. On the other hand users can simply add their own verifieds, opening the door wide for abuse. The owners may check the more popular verifieds, although I have even found fakes on their "Featured Items" and "Newest Files" sections. I don&#39;t even know if the "Report" column "G" "B" "F" was useable by the visitors untill recently, nor can you even see the results of those that have"Reported", which I believe even Paul mentioned.

Though based on how this site is run with 1000&#39;s of verifieds posted by visitors, I don&#39;t think we can hold the owners responsible, though they should be notified directly by all, and lodge your complaints so that they may introduce a warning to those posting verifieds and possibly implement filters. I have seen, I believe, the owner of the site post in this forum before, so maybe he will see this post and respond.

r@ygold is child porn. If you look in your Kazaa Lite filter, that name is also filter out.

r@ygold is childporn, which is why it is filtered out in the new K-Lite. Verifieddownloads.com should know that, and should have filtered that word in their database a long time ago.

There were a couple of long threads about the problem of this stuff on the kazaa network a while back, which is where the idea of filtering names like them came about. It&#39;s a pretty obscure name so its not likely to be in any wholly innocent files or usernames.

It&#39;s possible the owner of the site doesn&#39;t know that but like was said he has come to this forum a few times, can&#39;t remember his name, so if he does see this maybe he could do something about it, it wouldn&#39;t be hard.

edit: He was here a couple of hours ago, in here (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?act=ST&f=23&t=30468&st=30&#entry224432) Maybe he just didn&#39;t see this topic.

:( I love verified downloads but can&#39;t get it to work. I have all the correct software loaded. everytime i try to d/l something i get more sources...or remotely queued. what gives?

i know what you mean they always have real files on there but either they wont d/l cause of lack of sources or the 1 half d/l but the other wont.

i usualy get the file title and size from a verified d/l and then do a search in kazaa itself this usually gives a version with more sources but download a few so you can view with avi preview.
and just delete any fakes and pick the fastest.

Hey I&#39;m only 21 myself and I&#39;ve got a younger sister. Do you think I appreciate this myself?

All that verifieds.com is, is a huge database of "verified" shared kazaa files. If you find fakes, you may report them also (you&#39;d know if you are a frequent user of the site). Right now I&#39;m talking to Paul regarding a new verifieds site for k-lite itself, it will have many new features and be the best of the best site :D

Yeah I was a bit hard on it yesterday, I was not in the best of moods I&#39;m afraid.

I also didn&#39;t know they were all submitted by people and the voting system and all that.

So sorry for slating the site unnecessarily, it actually does a good job. Keep it up. :)
