IPOD Problem...

Hi, I recently repaired windows using my xp CD. I am currently using xp w/sp2 + it is automatically updated...

since the repair process my i pod shows on taskbar as "safely remove hardware" but no drive appears nor does itunes detect it..

I have 2 ipods photo & video and i'am facing same problem with both of them... Windows just gives that remove hardware icon but nothing happens...

One more thing... i like to use it like a disk drive so i can backup my currnet pc stuff and reinstall windows..

i also uninstaled the usb mass storage device from device manager and reinstalled but no use :(
