will it be a non-denomination elvis gep ceremony or will ye be hunning it up?

Not a local bash for local people then?

Do they actually "hun it up" in Vegas. The Little Chapel of Sectarian Bile springs to mind.

Anyway, I'm sure the phoaties will clarify that. I hope it's the gep option.

You have found the right guy for sure, congratulations.
May i ask how he managed to "woe" you in the moment?
You stated "Vegas" - is it a drive by type of thing, or a zen moment in the desert?

I prefer naked weddings.

Congrats.

It counts getting married in Vegas, right?

Skweeky
10-10-2006, 09:56 PM
't will be in the little church of the West

I can't quite decide to go for the Elvis thing or the traditional thing. They both seem a bit camp, so I guess there won't be much difference.

I'm not getting any bridesmaids. I'm going over there just with Gem, can't ask anyone else to buy a ticket to vegas

PS: Please no one tell my mum. She'll kill me

J2, how's about you come down and give me away?

That's really cool. :D

I'd love to attend and stand in as favored elder, but I'm about 2000 miles from Vegas, kiddo.

You certainly have my absolute best wishes and congratulations and a big old bear-hug, too.

That Gemmell is one supremely lucky duck, and you're lucky to have found him as well.

Can children be far behind? :whistling

Great news all around...:)

So for the rest of your or her life she is not to find out? Seems like a rather complicated quest.

Skweeky
10-11-2006, 07:20 PM
Naw

I'll just tell her AFTER I get married that I AM married

That way she won't dare to be nasty about it.

100%
10-11-2006, 07:29 PM
My presumption is
1. She wants you to be a Nun.
2. She has always hoped you would marry John, the lawyer.
3.She is principally against marriage.
4. She doesn't like your choice of husband?

Would it not be a greater insult to not let her know (or invite her), what that her daughter is getting married.
I know nothing of your relationship with your Mom, but as a recent parent, such a thing would be painfull in my eyes.

-Just possible mabye your mom got one or two secrets herself. eg. If you`re unlucky you`ll meet your mom marrying another man at the same time in Vegas.

Skweeky
10-11-2006, 08:19 PM
LMAO

I doubt it, however, if I do, she has my blessing

It's number 3. Her marriage experience wasn't too great so I've heard her moan about all my brothers and sisters who got married

My ex boss (boss of my wife) would shake his head, and groan when someone mentioned marriage.
He has now moved to the most northern part of Siberia in hope of true happines.

Marriage is mucho debated. I am still not married after nine years + a child.

Enjoy

Vegas has for sure got online webcam marriage options...

Dammit, I slipped, this won't do as I'm trying to turn Skweeky into my arch-enemy :dabs:

10-12-2006, 10:05 AM
congratulations sweeky! my bestest advice for the day is to enjoy every minute of it and if small things go wrong just laugh them away, they are not worth worrying about.

It is somewhere built into mums to be negative about everything that daughter do, my mum is exactly the same with me & my sister. eg....

1. "You've had a cat, oh why? they will make your house smell, you can never go on holiday....etc"

2. "You've had a dog, oh why I don't like dogs, they'll make your house smell, you will never be able to go out !....etcetc"

3. "You're moving house to ANOTHER rented flat, you know it makes much more sense to buy property"

4. "you're having a baby, but you're not married, who's name will the baby have (panic in her voice at this point)"

5. "what do you mean you're not getting married in church?"

Notice how there are never any 'thats great's' or 'I'm really pleased for you's' or 'if you ever need any money you only have to ask's'

That last bit a joke btw

Skweeky

It's a bit of bad taste to try to turn me into your arch enemy in my wedding thread.

I'll open a seperate thread for it. Hold on
