Hey,

im going to add linux to my 2nd hard drive,

and i had a live cd but its messed up, probably corrupt.

anyway,

is there any way i could download linux for free?

off limewire or something????


which distro is the best?


is there a program where i could make linux run itunes and definately aol????



any advice?

most linux versions can be downloaded for free on the official website.

not sure about itunes or AOL but I don't think that they will work

I would give ubuntu a crack it is very simple to learn and the suppport forum is great. Its also only 1 cd for the desktop version.

amarok is meant to have decent ipod support and you can also run itunes in wine. aol should work as well if you have a look around the forum there are various ways of getting it up and running.

ok,
ive downloaded ubuntu and installed it,

and i have this source code from www.linspire.com/dialersource
and i have no idea what to do with it.


also,
i downloaded wine for ubuntu on windows xp and put it on a zip disk,
but when i try to install it it says "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libartssc0"

I don't use ubuntu so I can't be 100% sure, but in terminal type sudo apt-get wine, enter the password and that should install it for you.

As for the itunes, for linux you can use Songbird.

Fedora Core 6 is out on Thursday, you might wanna check that Distro out :)

Can you please tell me what is Songbird for linux?
Is a music program like as winamp,itunes,wmplayer ecc. for windows?

yes its a music player thats made by the same fellas that do firefox. Its also cross platform so you can download and use it on windows

i try from 2 day to download kubuntu but my download go speedy LOW very low uffff :(
i hope next day i can try to install kubuntu for my first time to linux ^_^

Anyone know if kubuntu is the plus user frendly distro for windows noob user?

if u download any linux distro try torrent download not http or ftp.
kubuntu and all other KDE distros are user friendly.but u read this before start:

Mandriva,Suse,Fedora Core are good distros for a newbie. Just google it. You will need a cd or dvd burner to burn the downloads. For software imgburn is freeware, you can obtain to burn the isos.
