Man, those games were the only single player FPS I had trouble putting down. I normally have to take breaks from FPS , cause they'd just get too intense (doom 3) or my interest would wane (halo series).

Age of Empire: Rise of Rome

Used to play this when I was at the apex of my geek like, I was about 12 or 13 years old, and used to stay up until about 3 or 4 in the morning to play in tournaments (with my school mates as teammates - they were at their homes). I think I can honestly say I was one of the best in the world at most of the variations of the game.

I have since stopped playing games as much, and can only handle 30 mins of Fifa before I have to go outside. I don't think I will ever be one of the best in the 'world' again at anything, and that makes me sad.
