I can get tagscanner to put the \ in acdc or : in 508 i want them to look like ac\dc and 5:08

It will do whatever you tell it to.

i can get it to change in the tag but not how you view it in windows

see if mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/) is any easier for you to figure out.
