Hey. I'm looking for information about buying a seedbox or getting one setup or anything relating to seedboxes for torrenting. If you have some info let me know! I'm interested!

:D

Isn`t it too expensive to pay for upload credit by getting seedbox ? I think that paying to TL and/or bitmetv is much more cheaper, and no need to upload at all.
Anyway, if you are an ScT member, this thread will help you : link removed according to ScT policy

and some ppl also wishing to share a seed box, and split the bill

Octane. That's probably the best way.

I actually found someone who I'm sharing a box with right now. Pretty bad ass. Download at 5mbs is amazing when your used to 250kb/s lol

If you want in on this seedbox PM. I can hook you up.

A seedbox is a remote server that seeds for you. You log into it and give it the required information about the tracker/torrent and away it goes. So instead of you having to SEED, you are paying to have someone elses Server (BOX) to do it for you.

the speeds are however much you want between 10 mbit and 1 gbit. the costs also vary widely depending on where you look.

google is your friend :)

What would you search with on Google? I just seem to get irrelevant results when I google seedbox prices.

i think this thread will be of great value to you if you're really interested in one, because it's the users themselves who give feedback on the providers:

i think it might be the same link that got removed from jaqozo's post, i made some tuning to it so that it doesnt break any rules anymore :)

I'm not part of ScT. >.<

But that's ok, I'll just do some more digging on Google. All I am is curious, because I doubt that I'll really pay to seed something. Thanks for helping.

aren't most seedboxes located overseas due to the cheaper and faster bandwith they get?

Haha. anyways an estimate for prices in the US and Europe for different speeds would be nice. or maybe someone who has one could say the country that its in, the speed, and the cost.

i have mine with leaseweb.com, which is in the Netherlands. it's 100mbit and 2TB cap running centos w/ wine and utorrent. it's costs me 49 euro/month

....but i had it for a while and i think i'm going to drop it and rent a "Zephyr" with vectoral.info next month (i've read nothing but great things about them also). i'll need the extra b/w for the free leech weeks i'm expecting for the holidays :)

heres 1 i have looked at

Included:

Dedicated (non-shared) switch port
Premium hardware
CentOS
Managed DNS
Self Service Center
Real-time bandwidth monitoring
Server: EverCase 9130
CPU: 1 x Athlon 64 3000+
Memory: 512 MB
Harddisk: 1 x 160GB SATA
HW RAID: No
Rackspace: 1U
OS: Linux (CentOS)
Switch port: 100Mbps (FE)
Billing cycle: 1 month
SLA: Self-managed
Datatraffic: Volume 500GB

Yes defineatly but take atleast 1 TB datatraffic.
With leaseweb you'll reach 500gb before you know it.
