Just sort of a worry of mine...

In diskeeper every once in a while you get pink files that represent low performing system files that never defrag. Is there anyway to reclaim that performance, or does that represent bad sectors in the HDD?

I run alot of cleaning and maintinence utilities to keep my computers running as smoothly as possible so this has always bugged me.

Here's an image, large picture so I put it in spoilers.

i had a problem with files that couldnt be defraged and i read the manual and it said to schedule a boot time defrag. and that solved it. because lots of files are beeing used when ur on windows.

Performance about the same? Anything new with this release?

That "Invisitasking" looks awesome. Defragging in real-time is a badass idea. Why wait for things to get out of place, just put them back as you go along.

Ver 11 seems faster if thats possible , but a bugger to setup . I don't see set and forget or screen saver option either . To early to tell still playing with the settings .

From what I read there is no more "set it and forget it" option because they replaced it with the "Invisitasking" which just defrags 24/7. When a file fragments it defrags it immediately in real-time. Or so that is what I gather from the website.

Its funny but cleaned up and deleted a few gb of programs today and my HDD is just chirping away , clattering to beat the band . This fucking Diskeeper ver.11 is working like mad , don't know if I like the auto Invisitasking feature . I like to do things myself ,then check the logs to see what it's accomplished .

Fast oh ya very fast , but its idiot proof ?

i would recommend Raxco Perfectdisk, it's much better, has more options and i personally like it better, you should try it, too.

How can something you never know is running, and uses so little system resource that it's hard to even detect it, be annoying? It never pops up or anything. You just forget it's there...

true. installed diskeeper 2007 and i like it. i've got automatic defragmentation & ifaast running. i also dug the boot time defragmentation also. it did it's little check disk then the behind the scenes defragmentor thing. that was cool. either way, i like this new diskeeper and i didn't have any problem setting it up either.
