At times, uTorrent can take an eternity to initialize a download. How come?

As you can see in the screenshot, there are plenty of seeds in the swarm, but almost 35 minutes have gone by and still nothing.

Removed screenshot - read below.

i recommend finding a different tracker then.

hmmmm....is that the problem? The tracker and not uTorrent?

Are you using peerguardian by any chance or is your ip in their blocklist? Most of the time when this happens its a firewall issue. (If you consider PG2 a firewall.)

wtf is a torrent passkey?

Nope. I've never used PG so I don't think I'd be in their blocked list.

The torrent did start up finally after about 50 minutes, w/o having to restart uTorrent. I dunno what that means, but some else might make something of it. :idunno:

some trackers keep track of your ratio by what IP address you announce from (demonoid, filemp3, etc...), others keep track by a unique passkey that it adds to the tracker address in the .torrent file.

you need to remove that screenshot and ask a torrentleech admin to reset your passkey before someone abuses it (if they haven't already).

i use pg2 and it has never interfered with my dl's.

restarting utorrent helps with started torrents sometimes, yes. as for what i mentioned sometimes trackers never start with some torrents or some ppl just never feed u the files be it private tracker and ur not registered or simply a public tracker that ppl just choose not to upload. me, there are just many trackers per torrents especially that of new files. i just find a new tracker and feed off it and forget about it not connecting. clients have the same effect. try multiple clients? sometimes utorrent can't connect then just use bitcomet or client of choice. either way i guess ur connecting now so it doesn't matter...
