I note with interest that Gothic III has hit the private trackers and newsgroups. A lot of people seem to rate the previous games but I've never really got into them. Still, I haven't played an RPG for a while now. Should keep me going until NWN II comes out.

g3 looks really good. it really does, but the previous two game just weren't user friendly at all. i tried and tried to customize the game so i could play it and no matter how much i tried i failed. lol. many ppl have said that g1&2 were great games, but gameplay to me sux ballz. hopefully this one will be better.

I played the first two for a bit but you're right they didn't seem as user-friendly as Elder Scrolls, I'll give this a whirl when I've finished my uni work. So, some time next year then...:dabs:

I just can't get into this game :( . I was so looking forward to it and I just can't seem to get myself to enjoy it.. I guess I'll keep at it though until NWN comes out.

I think with great games like HL2/diablo and the such that we can easily become spoiled. That or I just have ADHD.

Been playing for about 3 days now,had one crash and the graphics feck about sometimes, thats 'cause I don't have a decent card yet.
Not a bad game, interesting quests, the fightings difficult but not impossible to master.
Not a bad game at all.

just back up ur saved game and u'll be good. granted u have the original files saved already, but if the patch is from the same releaser it should be ok.

I've been playing this game for a few days now.. Its a nice game, but my 6600GT has a really hard time running it. I Experience a lot of lag, even on low settings! I guess i'll have to save some money to buy another 6600GT to increase performance..

Btw when i tried to install the second patch, an error comes up saying:

"Setup has experienced an error.

Please do the following:
-Close any running programs
-Empty your Temporary Folder
-Check your internet connection

Then try to run Setup again.

Error code: -6002"

Has anyone had such problem?

The combat takes some getting used to and the graphics are great if you have the hardware to match (unfortunately, I don't). Though apparently if you don't complete the quests in a certain order you won't be able to finish the game. Not sure but that's what I've heard. A great game overall :D

You can bugger the game up if you conquer to many of the orc held towns to early in the game.
