I didn't see a thread on this game so I'm starting this one if anyone would like to talk about it. I downloaded the video provided on the 360 and it's looking decent. I watched a few videos off of gametrailers as well and it just added to my excitement. The homepage can be found here (http://masseffect.bioware.com/). Feel free to leave info or ask questions!

I can't say I'm that excited. I went to Best Buy yesterday and I had the money for it but I didn't buy it - maybe when it's cheaper I might buy it.

I don't have a 360, but the game does look good.
My roommate's brother has it all so maybe I'll borrow his sometime.
It's really tempting.
I'm a sucker for RPGs and sci-fi.

Very impressed. Much better than I thought it would be. Great story, amazing graphics. Even has online play. I would definately recommend anyone that enjoys RPGs to try this game.

Awesome game. I recommend it to anyone with a 360. Great graphics, story, flow, and the kind of polish you'd expect from Bioware.

I just started playing and it is quite good. I'm not even off the first planet.

I hate turn-based RPGs and this game is just right for me.

It's slick how there's is not written dialog (unless you want subtitles) besides your menu dialog tree and even the info in your Codex is spoken....all of it and it's quite lengthy.

This games seems like it'll clock in at 35+ hours and all of it seems interesting unlike many RPGs which seem tedious.

I love how you customize your Shepard. I'm a black guy with short hair and a beard.

Well worth the $48 I paid for the game.

This game will be made into a movie cuz it practically is one already.

The universe is fleshed out already.

One thing I did notice though....

Substitute

The Force for The Mass Effect
Jedis for Spectres kinda
Saran for a dark Jedi
Protheans for the Ancients (Stargate)

It's almost like they had ideas for a new Star Wars game and tweaked it cuz they didn't have or didn't want the license.

Damn good game though.

Mass Effect > Final Fantasy

It changes the way dialog and finding info is handled that will appeal to the masses.

I am wondering about how easy it is to level up though.

RPGs are known for being able purposely jump into battles for exp. points.

I think I've completed all the missions on the Citadel. I even scanned all the Keepers.

I don't know where I'm supposed to meet the guy that asked for the autograph (Conrad Verner)....another planet? He seems nutty and the assignment is called The Fan (a la De Niro).

Now I'm going to the star system that encompasses about 3 missions (I think it's called Hades). All the other systems only have 1 mission right now.

Anyone know the best place to buy/sell items for good prices?

I'm approaching my 150 item limit and need to sell a ton of shit (I haven't sold one damn thing yet).

I have the weakest of weapons and armor to the strongest (so far).

The game's a beast, btw.

I have turned around in coupla areas cuz I wasn't ready....

I haven't ventured to Peak 15 yet (took out the first line of turrets on the bridge and that's it). But the firepower on the bridge is too strong...right now.

I also can't board the MSV with biotics and hostage aboard.

The biotics ripped my party rather quickly so I have to figure something out before tackling that.

Wow I can see how the game might shorter if you do a speed run without the side quests.

I juuuust got the Asari on my squad.

I've been doing so many "Assignments" that I've been ignoring "Missions".

I heard someone say that once you compete all the main missions....Game Over.

My squad has been Tali (the Quran) and Ashley.

I notice that when you choose another squad member, even for the first time much later in the game, that squad member gets the same amount of points they would have got had they been with you.

When I got the Asari for a mission, I had 46 attribute points to give.

My Shepard is now a Shock Trooper.

The Marksman skill kicks ass.

I hate the way the game makes you essentially throw away items when you reach the 150 item limit. I'm constantly selling shit to make room for future missions.

The game has flaws like that but I still give it a 9.

A 10 would have made it perfect but it ain't perfect.

1. The 150 item limit "you have to turn items to Omni-Gel" bit is crap. You can't even get out of it. You have to do it no matter what.

2. The elevator rides are too long.

3. The battles in most rooms look the same. (Surprisingly they are still entertaining)

4. Sometimes when I tell squad members to go somewhere one may tell me the way is blocked when it isn't.

5. Sometime when I tell a squad member to regroup they stay there fighting and take one for the team. (I just use Unity to reanimate them though)

I finished the game yesterday.

Total 43 hours.

I missed some shit though.

I'll go back to an older save and rehit some of those planets for resources.

I also wanna try some differents branches on the decisions.

When I beat the game

I let Kaiden die.

I let the Council Die.

This go round I'll let Ashley die and save the Council.

I was over 75% Paragon.

If I play again, I'll go Renegade.
